A collection of immersive perceptual experiences: dark environments housing abstract animations, projection-mapping, found and made objects, video, and sound.
Exhibition Statement
The Color of Where We Are Not is an invitation to create distance from the everyday. In the dark, slow nuance of this work, the embodiedness of deep perceptual judgment presents itself as a strategy for healing and resistance. Taking its title from, The Blue of Distance, by Rebecca Solnit, this show seeks to connect us to the pleasure and comfort of letting go; loving more deeply those things that cannot be grasped. This show was supported by a RACC Art3Cs grant.
