Information
Carnation Contemporary was founded in 2018 by a collective of Portland-based artists who champion critical and contemporary artwork. Carnation supports emerging and mid-career artists from the Pacific Northwest, and is committed to fostering an inclusive, diverse community of member artists (including but not limited to diversity in race, ethnicity, language, religion, gender, sexual orientation, economic class, familial status, physical ability, and age).

Carnation is not seeking new members at this time.

Carnation is ADA and wheelchair accessible by entering through Oregon Contemporary.* There is one accessible parking space in Oregon Contemporary’s small lot.
* Oregon Contemporary is typically open during Carnation’s open hours (Sat/Sun 12-5). However, occasionally they are not. It is always possible to come to Carnation’s front door to the gallery sitter know access is needed at the ADA entrance.
