A collection of immersive perceptual experiences: dark environments housing abstract animations, projection-mapping, found and made objects, video, and sound.

Exhibition Statement

The Color of Where We Are Not is an invitation to create distance from the everyday. In the dark, slow nuance of this work, the embodiedness of deep perceptual judgment presents itself as a strategy for healing and resistance. Taking its title from, The Blue of Distance, by Rebecca Solnit, this show seeks to connect us to the pleasure and comfort of letting go; loving more deeply those things that cannot be grasped.

PROGRAMS: Sonar Sessions

Sonar is a technology that uses emitted or reflected sound waves traveling through deep water to reveal the shape of things unseen. Sonar helps us map hidden realms and navigate safely. Please join artist Pamela Hadley and Carnation Contemporary for three evening sessions of perceiving, grounding, voicing, and listening. RSVP Required.
