Biography

Ryan Swedenborg is a Portland, Oregon-based artist whose assemblage sculptures bring together found materials, handcrafted forms, and a sense of comedic possibility. Through improvisation, humor, and unlikely material encounters, her work explores failure, resistance, and the ways meaning is shaped through participation. She received her MFA in Visual Arts from Maine College of Art & Design in 2025. She is a member of Wave Arts Collective and co-runs MOTTO (Museum of This, That and The Other), an artist-run exhibition space in Portland.
