Exhibition StatementWhat is the purpose of art but to center one's attention on an object, idea or image for understanding and contemplation. But what if we don’t need art to point to it. What if art is everywhere, and life has the possibility of accepting art into it. In the exhibition, Hi Collaboration, artists bring together works that sit at the intersection of art and the home. A table becomes the place to center one’s thoughts on the value of connection. A bathroom mirror serves as a space to reflect on vanity. A wooden vessel recalls the unexpected and points to the source of its origin.
This exhibition includes crafted furniture, vessels, dinnerware, and other object which call to the collective experience of the home. Participating artists formed unique works expressed in a wide range of media such as wood, clay, leather, paper, and glass.
