Biography

Drew Laughery is an artist and musician working across several media, though he does tend to return to drawing again and again as a generative place to explore ideas. He loves paper, and makes work utilizing its unique qualities.  He was born and raised in rural Oregon. Wading through creeks and watching lambs being birthed were formative creative acts.  Since 1998 he has lived and invested in the community of Portland, OR. He is a founding member of the rock band Blitzen Trapper, and performed on keyboards in the band on many notable stages and tv shows across the world.  He left the band in 2011 to pursue his visual art career, earning grants and exhibiting around Portland.
